BEHAVIOUR OF TIMBER STRUCTURES IN CASE OF FIRE

Dhionis DHIMA graduated in mechanical engineering from the Polytechnic University of Tirana in 1979; then, he worked for ten years in a Metallurgical Complex in Albania. He obtained his PhD at Pierre and Marie Curie University in Paris in 1993. In 1993 he began his career as a researcher and project engineer in the Fire Safety Department of CTICM (Centre Technique Industriel de la Construction Métallique).

Since 2000 he has worked successively as a Senior Researcher Engineer and Fire Scientific Expert at the Fire Safety and Structural Department of CSTB (Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment). He supervised several PhD theses and engineering masters related to fire safety engineering. His knowledge goes from "fire safety engineering" to "heat transfer and thermo-mechanical behaviour of structures subjected to fire", passing through "advanced calculations". He has significant experimental and numerical experience. He will give us a keynote lecture on recent developments in timber structures in case of fire.
